Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Springfield, IL 62702 (Acute Care Facility - Med/Surg Unit)

Start Date: August 18, 2025

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (18:30 - 07:15)

Weekends: Every other weekend

Float Required: Yes

Position Summary

Protouch Staffing is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 13-week Medical-Surgical contract at an acute care facility in Springfield, IL. This role involves caring for adult and geriatric patients on a 21-bed med/surg unit.

Requirements

  • License: Active RN (Illinois or Compact)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Surg
  • Certifications:
    • Required: BLS
    • Preferred: Heparin, PCA, IV starts
  • Preferred Background: Teaching hospital or charge nurse experience

  • IV therapy & phlebotomy
  • Peripheral & PICC line care
  • Blood product administration
  • Wound care
  • Feeding tube & colostomy care
  • TPN & NG tube management
  • Telemetry (remote monitoring)
  • Rapid response team participation
